The Queen’s Green Canopy is deeply saddened by the passing of
Her Majesty The Queen.
Following the wishes of our Patron, His Majesty The King, The Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) initiative will be extended to the end of March 2023 to give people the opportunity to plant trees in memoriam to honour Her Majesty.
On the 6th February 2022 it will be 70 years since the accession of Her Majesty, our monarch Queen Elizabeth II, Her Majesty will be the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee and we are all being invited to get involved celebrating her historic reign!
The Queens Green Canopy is a unique tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022 which invites people from across the United Kingdom to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee”.
And everyone is going to be encouraged to join in, from sons and daughters, mums, dads, nannas to scouts, schools, businesses, towns and cities encouraging us all to do our bit for the future of the environment and the next 70 years!
The official planting season is between October (2021) and March (2022), recommencing again in October 2022 right through to the end of the Jubilee year.
