I have just purchased through Amazon a Simply Wood Jubilee Garden Bench 4ft (2 Seater), and have left a 5 star review on Amazon. It was basically as follows:
‘The bench arrived well packaged and the wood is clearly of very good quality. It was easy to assemble with good instructions and has a very solid and appealing appearance which I feel would look well anywhere. The price is extremely competitive especially compared with much higher priced but no better benches at garden centres and DIY stores. Strongly recommended’.
One aspect which is not covered in the supporting literature is whether you recommend any form of protective staining or other application such as that marketed by Cuprinol, either on initial assembly or subsequently. There is also the question of protective wood oil which I know is sometimes recommended for protective reasons. I am particularly anxious to retain the natural appearance and so would be looking to stain the wood, if appropriate, with something that was effectively transparent.
Any help you can give would be much appreciated.
