Wooden Square Planter As A Cat House

Thank you, Ian

That’s the parcel ready to go – I hadn’t opened it but I can see that a bit of the tape has burst so my hubby (another Ian) is sorting it just in case the couriers are rough with it though I don’t think the planter will fall out.  If I had been able to access an account with my previous details and found that this was the wrong size, I would have been able to find out if you had any lurking around as Pixie did love going into it and coorying into the blankets I put in.  With our garden table having a heavy duty cover on it, it protected him to some extent from the cold winds and rain.

I believe I had ordered outwith office hours – I do get nervous at the thought of speaking to strangers, even when they are kind and pleasant, and I find I either start to stutter and forget words or gabble away like a turkey on speed due to nerves when I speak to folk I don’t know.  So I hope I didn’t sound like some sort of idiot when I spoke to Samantha.

Anyway, my daughter has gone ahead and bought a cat house and she brought it over and built it a couple of days ago but the wood is very thin and I would much have preferred the planters I bought from you but she didn’t have any patience.  I also think she found this a good opportunity to buy what she wanted and thought was best for next-door’s ill treated little cat.  I don’t think he has gone into it yet, probably as it is enclosed and he can’t just jump into it like he did with the planter.  I am still keeping it under the garden table as I don’t really feel it will stay water tight for long and I’d rather the owners didn’t see it.  I managed to encourage him by using a catnip toy to go into it for a few minutes but I couldn’t keel down long enough and he dived out of it once I got up.  Hopefully, he will get used to it.  I wish you made pet houses as your wood is so much stronger and better quality and you it is obvious that you don’t fling things together like this foreign made contraption – my daughter has suffered from depression for most of her adult life and has been unable to work so could not afford any of the decently made pet houses but her heart is in the right place.

Och well.  It’s done now but I don’t see this cat house that Laura has bought lasting long.  When our 2 cats were alive, we had a reasonably strong house for them but we gave it to the Cats’ Protection League when we lost them as I am no longer mobile enough to look after any more pets and I was too devastated when we lost Mittens and Nikita after 19 and 17 years of love from them.  I just can’t understand why our neighbours ignore their little cat and seldom let him in.  He is always starving and cries most nights in their garden wanting in for a heat, especially in the winter, but they ignore him.  He used to sleep up on top of our car which has a roofbox on top and we keep it in a car port across the road from the house so I think he found a bit more shelter from the wind huddling up to the roofbox.  Poor wee soul.  they don’t even feed their dog well as she is extremely skinny and we can hear her liking her bowl for hours at a time.  Contacting the Pets Protection place didn’t seem to help.

Anyway, I am warbling on.  Please let me know when you receive the planter and please accept my apologies for ordering the incorrect size.
